Maintenance

All sites require a maintenance contract as it covers hosting, domain renewal for one domain name and updates. We encourage all sites to be updated on a bi-annual basis as a minimum, in order to maintain a decent search engine ranking. Any maintenance contract allows the customer to ‘buy’ additional maintenance days at 50% reduction to the normal rate (therefore £245 each). Customers can only buy as many days as they already have in their currently maintenance package. Extra days are bought in blocks of at least 1 day but can be used in hourly increments.  Minimum contract is 12 months.

Glossary, Terms and Conditions

Maintenance – one day is defined as 7 hours of work, which can be divided into 1 hour units.

All maintenance work is timed in hourly intervals though ‘quick jobs’ (those taking five minutes or less eg minor text changes etc) do not use up maintenance time. Therefore any maintenance between 6 to 60 minutes would count as 1 hour from the maintenance total regardless.

All content for pages must be provided. Content must be able to fit into the template areas, depending on font size and images etc. Content can include combinations of text, images and simple tables.

All costs are based on Cognotive hosting the site. If a customer wants to host the site elsewhere, then their server must be LAMP and there would be an XproWeb installation cost of £245. The customer will be provided with the pre-requisites of software versions, database number and access required.

LAMP refers to a solution stack of software: Linux, referring to the operating system; Apache, the Web server; MySQL, the database management system (or database server); PHP, the software language.

*All hosted websites are subject to a monthly maintenance package.
